DevOps Engineer
Esker is seeking a skilled DevOps Engineer to play a crucial role in maintaining the security, stability, and efficiency of our TermSync platform. In this position, you will be responsible for managing and automating our platform infrastructure and deployment life cycle. You will develop and utilize monitoring tools to proactively identify and resolve issues, collaborating closely with our software development and technical support teams to ensure seamless operations and optimal customer satisfaction.
Key Tasks/Duties:
- Maintain Esker TermSync platform health and reliability by monitoring platform performance and availability; responding to production-related alerts and incidents; resolve and follow-up on problems; participate in post-incident reviews.
- Improve detection and diagnosis of platform incidents; deploy scalability, performance, and reliability infrastructure upgrades; improve system architecture and platform security.
- Maximize efficiency and accuracy by automating routine tasks; develop self-service tools for Esker developers, technical support staff, and product consultants; contribute to TermSync Infrastructure as Code (IaC) solution improvements.
- Perform production environment changes according to change management SOPs; assist developers and deployment teams with production changes; document changes as required by data security policies; escalate risks to appropriate team members.
- Contribute to a high-functioning team within an agile framework; improve productivity by documenting tasks for reference and automation; pro-actively share knowledge and experience; foster a psychologically safe environment that encourages feedback and new ideas; present outcome of completed user stories during sprint reviews; document processes.
Education Requirements:
BS in Computer Sciences or related field preferred; equivalent work experience will be considered
Essential Experience:
- 2+ years of professional experience maintaining Linux systems in a production environment.
- 2+ years of software development using languages such as Ruby and Python.
- 1+ years of cloud resource management, preferably using AWS.
- Exposure to TCP/IP and networking fundamentals, including DNS and firewalls.
- Basic experience using scripting or Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform to automate systems.
- Exposure to running services in containers.
- Awareness of relational or document databases and SQL.
- Advanced knowledge of Linux, or network administration.
- Independent response to routine production incidents.
