Associate Development Consultant

The Associate Development Consultant plays a key role in the successful delivery of Esker’s on-demand, cloud-based SaaS solutions. This position is primarily focused on the development, configuration, and enhancement of Esker solutions to meet specific client business requirements. Through close collaboration with customers and internal teams, the consultant ensures that each implementation is technically sound, user-friendly, and aligned with business outcomes.
Key responsibilities
- Work as part of a cross-functional team to implement and enhance Esker’s SaaS solutions.
- Customize workflows, reports, background logic, and interfaces using technologies such as JavaScript, XML, and JSON.
- Collaborate with customers to gather requirements, validate functionality through testing, and deliver end-user training.
- Develop or configure integrations between Esker solutions and ERP systems like SAP or Oracle.
- Execute test cases, resolve technical issues, and ensure high-quality configuration aligned with project goals.
- Document solution customizations and support continuous improvement efforts across solutions and delivery processes.
Required qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree preferably in computer science, mathematics, engineering or business or experience in lieu of degree
- 1+ years of experience in software development, support or combination thereof
- Experience with JavaScript, XML, JSON, relational databases (Oracle, SQL Server)
- Experience with object-oriented programming
- Experience with version control and git
- Ability to adapt communication style to diverse audiences, including technical and non-technical personnel.
- Ability to understand customer needs and anticipate potential roadblocks.
- Ability to communicate effectively with customers in a professional and courteous and empathetic manner.
- Clear and concise verbal communication skills and strong written communication skills
- Strong active listening skills with the ability to fully understand and respond in appropriately.
- Ability to work harmoniously within a group, shares ideas and contributes to the team. Takes accountability for tasks.
- Willingness to seek out feedback and adapt behaviors to improve effectiveness.
- Ability to function effectively in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Ability and flexibility to travel (domestic and/or international)
Preferred qualifications
- Understanding of accounting and finance business practices
- Understanding of cloud-based solutions as well as SaaS experience
- Experience working in an Agile, scrum and kanban principals
- Understanding of Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) such as SAP, Oracle, or JDE
- Familiarity with version control and git
- Experience in automated unit tests, Oracle EBS, SAP, SOAP, REST, TypeScript
- Experience working with external clients
Salary Range: $69,840 - $87,300 +Incentive
