Esker is seeking a Site Reliability Engineer to join our team in maintaining and enhancing the reliability, security, and performance of our Esker on Demand SaaS platform. In this role, you'll be part of an on-call rotation responding to production incidents, automating operational tasks, and collaborating with development teams to improve our distributed architecture. You'll play a critical role in ensuring platform availability while working within an agile framework to improve our infrastructure and reduce operational toil.
This position hours are first shift, Monday - Friday, but also include a paid on call rotation. The on call rotation is one evening (5:00pm - 9:00pm (CDT) every 2 weeks and one weekend rotation every 6 - 8 weeks (Friday evening 5:00pm to Sunday evening 7:00pm CDT)
All on call shifts include an additional pay per hour and additional pay per incident.
Key Tasks/Duties:
- Maintain platform health and reliability by monitoring platform performance and availability and responding to production-related alerts and incidents as part of an on-call rotation
- Improve alerting, and build dashboards to help reduce the time to identify and recover from incidents
- Scale infrastructure to support Esker’s growing SaaS customer base; automate infrastructure management and deployments to improve configuration visibility, standardization, and reduce the time and effort on routine tasks
- Enhance self-service tools for Esker developers, technical support staff, and product consultants allowing for critical operations to be performed safely in production
- Contribute to a high-functioning team within an agile framework; pro-actively share knowledge and experience; foster a psychologically safe environment that encourages feedback and new ideas; present outcome of completed user stories during sprint reviews

Essential Experience:
- 2+ years of professional experience maintaining Linux systems in a production environment, bonus if experience with Windows server administration
- Bachelor degree in Computer Sciences or related field preferred OR equivalent work experience will be considered in lieu of degree
- Experience using scripting or Infrastructure as Code tools (e.g. Terraform, Ansible, Chef, Puppet, etc.) to a automate infrastructure
- Knowledge of TCP/IP and networking fundamentals, including DNS, firewalls, and proxies
- Familiar with relational or NoSql databases
Salary Range: $95,100 - $118,900 + on call pay
